EMPLOYEE VALUE PROPOSITION
Category marketing is responsible for building priority brands to drive growth in South Africa and beyond.
They drive category innovation, working with Research& Development to identify new opportunities that will meet consumer needs, and deliver winning campaigns that engage and delight our consumers. The Category function works in service of upskilling marketing talent by building marketing, leadership and commercial skills
The purpose of Corporate Affairs is to ignite, inspire and influence the experience of Tiger Brands as an admired corporate citizen, making Tiger Brands a force for good (better company for the world). We partner with other functions to realise our commitment to invest in our communities and reflect their diversity establishing Tiger Brands as a leader in sustainability and nutrition in South Africa. Corporate Affairs protects, enhances and grows Tiger Brands’ corporate reputation and brand positioning among internal and external stakeholders.
Our Customer function is accountable for driving profitable top line growth across the Tiger portfolio in South Africa, and internationally. It owns the customer relationship, driving penetration through key account management, distributor management and in-market execution. Providing tailored channel strategies, customer marketing, Route To Market execution and commercial excellence.
Finance is responsible for the analysis of financial information to provide business decision support to the business management teams which underpins the responses to business operational issues as well as new and emerging trends. At Tiger Brands, the operational finance teams are responsible for the full accounting function including the management of the debtors and creditors functions, the management of funds, financial reporting and analysis.
The role of Human Resources at Tiger Brands is to provide people solutions that deliver a differentiating employee experience, setting Tiger Brands apart as the employer of choice within South Africa. We set the benchmark for Talent and Leadership Development in Africa, driving a winning performance culture, and attracting and retaining a workforce that represents the diversity of our communities. Human Resources also fulfil the talent needs of the business, at the right cost and time by identifying talent requirements and creating a talent pipelines (by growing our own talent and by sourcing externally).
Our business operations are supported by Information systems. The IT Services division is the custodian responsible for hosting, managing and maintaining information systems, as well as the underlying infrastructure. In IT we invest in uplifting our IT talent to ensure they meet our desired capability levels and are fit for future. We do this across the various disciplines in IT: Architecture, Service Delivery, Portfolio Management, Applications, Project Management, Security Risk & Governance.
Our Legal function advances business and brand value through the provision of fast, practical legal solutions which enable the business to achieve its commercial objectives. We provide legal clarity to help the business deliver business growth with confidence and navigate all obstacles with integrity to limit exposure to fines, penalties and reputational harm.
In our Marketing function we put the consumer at the heart of everything we do by emphasizing the consumer experience through strengthened consumer journey design capabilities. We focus on growing our power brands and turbo-charging innovation by defining the marketing strategy and high level brand architecture. We cultivate expertise across pricing, consumer experience, insights, digital and media.
Research & Development
Research & Development is responsible for turbo-charging innovation, managing a project portfolio that balances innovation, renovation, productivity and value engineering. The Formulation teams and project coordinators manage the R&D pipeline. Supported by expertise from an open innovation ecosystem, a packaging technologies COE, sustainability, safety and regulatory, and nutrition.
The Strategy function defines the strategic ambition for Tiger Brands and develops the corporate strategy to realise it. Aligns category and function strategies to the strategic agenda, identifies and develops new business, Merger & Acquisition opportunities, and the management of the enterprise transformation journey.
Procurement is the acquisition of goods or services. At Tiger Brands we pride ourselves on ensuring that the goods and services procured are appropriate and that they are procured at the best possible cost to meet the needs of the business purchaser, in terms of quality and quantity.
Manufacturing is the conversion of the raw materials into product to be sold to our customers, the retailers that in turn sell them to our consumers.
Logistics at Tiger Brands includes the management of the flow of finished goods between the manufacturing point and the customer in the best possible time and to the order specification.
Engineering ensures the manufacturing facilities and lines are operating at optimum levels to deliver the best quality product manufactured to specification in the best possible time.
Quality at Tiger Brands is of the utmost importance. Through our Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes, we focus on meeting the quality specifications of our products.
